Submitting contact form takes me to different index (9 posts)

    Hi,

Really hope someone can help - I'm a complete novice.

I've installed Contact Form 7, everything is good and works well... except...

After pressing 'submit' on the contact form the web address appears to add extra index info.

for instance (after pressing submit) when I try to go to the portfolio page it reads:

    http://www.domainname.com/index.php/contact/#index.php/portfolio/

    instead of the correct address:

    http://www.domainname.com/#index.php/portfolio/

This then means the website defaults to the homepage for every button I press.

    What have I done wrong??

Huge thanks in advance for any support you can give.

    David

Please include the code used in the Form section of the CF7 interface and a link to your CF7 form if possible.

    Hi Buzztone,

Thanks for your message - Is this the bit you mean? Not sure how to link to the form without posting up the password...

    <p>Your Name (required)
    [text* your-name] </p>

    <p>Your Email (required)
    [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>Subject
    [text your-subject] </p>

    <p>Your Message
    [textarea your-message] </p>

    <p>[submit "Send"]</p>

Yes - that is the code used in the Form section of the CF7 interface. Very basic and nothing wrong there.

RE: Not sure how to link to the form without posting up the password...

Just need the URL where the form is displayed to the world on your website. Don't need access to your WordPress Admin.

Looks like you may be doing something very unusual with your .htaccess file. Why are all your WordPress URL's under http://www.kimgavin.com/#index.php/ ? That is a likely cause of your problems.

    Thanks Buzztone,

I installed wordpress within a folder, then when I asked the owner of the FTP site (it's a private server) to point the domain name to this folder, they moved half the WordPress files to the root directory, but not the content folder (because then wordpress couldn't find the links to the content). I wonder if this is the issue...

    I really appreciate your time...

    Almost certainly - see http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
