  • Using v.1.6.8 of Knews

    Since upgrade, when I submit a newsletter, the message I get is that it has been properly scheduled, but when I go into the Submits page, the progress is 0% and the newsletter is not sent out. I use wp cron and I have verified my smtp address. Sending to one subscriber manually works.

  • Same problem here and i’m using an external cron.
    I tried to deactivate and reactivate, delete useless plugins, etc but nothing seems to work so far.

    I’m also using the last release.

    Any solution please?

    I forgot to say that i’m using the same settings and same plugin since december 27, 2012.

    LOG reveals this:

    * Reset SMTP after fail, result: 1
    * Too much consecutive submissions error. Let’s stop & wait next cycle… (12:02:11)
    12:02:11 | total: 6812 | ok: 11 | error: 8 | CONTINUE SUBMIT
    * KNEWS 1.6.8 18/11/2014 12:07:03 | ok: 11 | error: 8

    error should be this:

    SMTP Error: data not accepted. [smtp]
    * Reset SMTP after fail, result: 0

    then status turns to complete, the process stops and no mail has been sent.

    I’ve submitted a test batch and it went out 2 days after scheduled submit.
    Tried another one today and was sent out 9 minutes after. But when I look at the Submits page it says it was submitted yesterday…

    New update…
    Everything seemed to work just fine finally after upgrading some other plugins. The progress bar even displayed 1% and some emails have been sent.

    Then suddenly it stopped, progress bar turned back to 0% and the status became “complete”.
    No text on the result column.

    No error in the LOG file was detected.

    any help please?

    OK i figured it out but i expected we could get some more support from the plugin’s author…

    Anyway, if you run a Multisite WordPress Blog you need to activate the plugin on the entire network.

    If you do so, then it works. At least it did in my case.

    I had a similar problem in version 1.6.9, when I tried to send a newsletter to one single adress. Nothing happened, the sending-script didn’t work. So I went back to version 1.6.8.

    I tested the submit in your website, on:

    Knews > Config > Advanced > Submit method

    I tested the SMTP connection and it fails:

    CLIENT -> SMTP: EHLO http://www.sylvieadams.com CLIENT -> SMTP: STARTTLS CLIENT -> SMTP: EHLO http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com CLIENT -> SMTP: AUTH LOGIN CLIENT -> SMTP: XXXXXXXXX= CLIENT -> SMTP: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX SMTP -> ERROR: Password command failed: 535 Incorrect authentication data CLIENT -> SMTP: QUIT SMTP connect() failed.

    Submit error.

    Please, check the SMTP config
