  • Hi,

I have a problem with my website (www.drawyourpets.com). The problem started when I was trying to develop the site by myself. I made it pretty far, but I had no knowledge of Ecommerce, so I consulted a Website Design company who converted my files to WordPress and set up WooCommerce as a way to pay for the products. The point of my website, which I tried to convey to the Website Design company, was for people to be able to upload a picture of their pet and choose between two sizes, 11” x 14” (for $150) and 13” x 15” (for $200). Then, the client would pay for whatever size they wanted and finally, using their photo as a reference, I would draw it (I’m an artist) and send it back to them in the mail. This makes the process very easy for both of us because they can send their picture from anywhere in the country, it eliminates the process of me having to come to their house to photograph the dog or cat, and it allows them to get creative with the pictures they send.
Right now, the Submit page allows the customer to upload their photo and send it to my business email, but they have no way of paying or selecting what size drawing they’d like. What I would like to happen is for the customer to be able to choose the size of the drawing on the Submit page, and then, after they submit their photo, they would be redirected to the cart where they can pay for it just like they would with any other product. I don’t know if this is something that can be done in WordPress or not, and the Website Design company that I went through will not offer me much of an explanation – they haven’t been very helpful.
The second part of my question is about product bundles – I have other products on my site besides just the custom drawing. For example, the customer can add a coffee mug, print, magnet, or postcard to their purchase, either customized to match their submission or they can choose from any of the previous drawings in the gallery. I would like to offer a product bundle, where after they submit their picture for custom drawing, they can add a print, coffee mug, magnet, and postcard together for $50, which is $25 less than purchasing these items individually. But if I go to Products, Add Product, “Product Bundle” is not one of the options listed under Product Data. I know this means that I need to install Product Bundles, but I don’t think WooCommerce/WooThemes is actually installed on my computer, since the Website Design company wrote (a lot of) the site for me. Do I need to reach out to them and ask them for the Plugins folder so I can upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/directory? How can I check to make sure WooComerce isn’t installed on my computer? I went to Finder, Applications (I have a Mac) and nothing related to WooCommerce is there.
Thank you for reading this long post. If you can help me get to the point where the site is completely ready to use, I will send you a free Pet Drawing, or a free drawing of anything else you’d like, as long as it isn’t larger than 13” x 15” (check out my gallery, I’m a better artist than many artists who charge twice as much for the same thing).

  • Your site is on a server – and yes, WooCommerce is installed on your site. You don’t need anything installed on your computer.

But you do need to ask WooCommerce for help with any of these questions related to that plugin and any addons – for any FREE versions of the plugin, ask here:

If you are using any paid addons or extensions, you need to use the support on WooThemes’ site – as they provide support for commercial plugins and themes. These forums don’t support any commercial products.

I’m asking at the link for the Free version, but I’m getting no response. Since I downloaded woo commerce-bundle-style-coupons (free), how do I get the folder/information to show up as an installed plugin on WordPress?

You just posted it – these are free, volunteer-staffed forums. Plugin developers don’t always have time to help right away, some don’t have time or money to provide any support. There is no guaranteed level of support for for free, open-source software. If you need faster help, I’d suggest you contact WooThemes directly and pay for support. Or you could go back to the people who created your site or hire someone new – http://jobs.wordpress.net/

I’m sorry I can’t offer a better, faster solution for you – but this is a fairly specialized situation – so you’ll need to get help from the people who know how that plugin and extensions work.
