• My ability to post new content has been replaced by a “Submit for Review” button. I am the admin of my site, so this shouldn’t be happening.

I have looked into posts online, and they’re telling me to look into my SQL databases, but I’m a real novice when it comes to that stuff and would rather not alter anything and risk losing my site.

I’m also very wary of updating WordPress, as usually when I do, there’s a massive problem to sort out after and would rather NOT have to reinstall everything again.

Is there any way I can fix this quickly and easily? Bear in mind I’m not the most technically-minded, so please be patient. Does anyone know what the issue is? Thanks.

    Anyone?

Same problem here. I’ll keep looking through the support pages and link here if I find the answer elsewhere.

    Hello,

Do you have access to your database? Could you check (assuming phpmyadmin) wp_posts -> structure -> id. Is it unique/primary/*A_I*? It might be having this problem mainly if the ID (or a primary/unique identifier) isn’t set to auto_increment.

    Tell me how that goes.

All this does is make the column auto increment when you make a post. If this is not set, that might be the reason why you can’t post because there’s no ID being placed when you try to post, thus giving you a “submit for review”.

For example: Post 1 – Today I did this and that… *post*
If it’s auto increment, post 1 will have an ID of 1. Your next post, Post 2, will have an ID of 2, etc.
