Support » Plugin: NavMenu Addon For Elementor » Submenu padding

  • Hi: The NavMenu add-on is just what I’ve been looking for now that Elementor allows a home page to be created from scratch with the new blank canvas option (except that they don’t yet have a widget for creating a navigation bar). I’m almost able to re-create the default primary navigation bar that comes with the GeneratePress theme with the NavMenu add-on EXCEPT that the padding for submenu items can’t be controlled with the add-on widget (and it’s greater than in GeneratePress). I can’t point you to the site because it’s only local at the moment. But can you recommend css code that I could add that would alter the submenu item padding? Thanks – great app!

  • HI @jfjewett,

Let me test this out later today and I’ll come back to you with a solution 🙂

Pushed an update that adds padding and alignment for the Deafault Menu widget’s submenu.

Please update, test and let me know if that meets your needs or if you still need some custom CSS.

Hi: That’s a great addition. Really gives me nice styling control over the submenu! Thanks a lot for so quickly helping with it. If I were to have one additional request for my wish list, should you have time to get around to it, it would be to offer independent control of padding for the carats and text on the menu navigation bar. When you change the padding of the text the carat padding doesn’t change with it, and so there’s effectively a limit in how much you can change the text padding (as both will crash into each other as you change the text padding). Thanks again!

Just wanted to follow-up on the above request. Would it be possible to anchor the submenu down-arrows (carats) to the text in the default NavMenu widget? Right now the arrow location varies with the padding setting. With large padding measurements the arrows fly away from the text and with small padding measurements the arrows crash into the text. Thanks!
