Submenu Items not showing

I’m not sure if this is an issue with the Theme I am using (PremiumPress Directory Theme), but when I use your plugin to create a top level menu item in either the main menu or the top navigation menu, submenu items will not display. The submenu items are pages.

However, as long as the top menu item is a WP Page or other object and I create a submenu item under it with your plugin, then the 3rd level items below your plugin will display correctly.

The below works fine
WP-PAGE item

3rd level menu item

This Does not seem to work
[Shortcode in Menu] (visible)
|_
WP-PAGE item (no drop down)
|_
3rd level menu item (no dropdown)
