    I am in the process of setting up an ecommerce site using the Colorway theme with WooCommerce. I had the site almost completely configured and functioning properly until I updated to the most recent version of WordPress and Colorway.

    Worpress vs. 3.5.1 updated to 3.5.2

    Colorway Theme vs. 2.5.1 updated to 2.5.8

    I still have the most recent version of WooCommerce vs. 2.0.12 installed.

    My problem is that after the update my menus and submenus are not functioning properly. For starters, when I hover over a main menu tab the submenu drops down. When I mouse down to click a submenu category the submenu disappears. I have to mouse down several times before the submenu will allow me to click.

    The second problem only affect one menu item titled Newsletters. I have created this item to have a two tiers of submenus. For example:

    Newsletters (tier 1)
    –>2013 Newsletters (tier 2)
    —-> Second Quarter (tier 3)
    —-> First Quarter (tier 3)

    –>2012 Newsletters
    —-> Second Quarter
    —-> First Quarter

    and so on. Prior to the updates the hierarchy was working properly. Now some of the tier 3 submenus appear in the tier 2 position. When I mouse over the tier 3 item the flyout shows some of the tier 2 items in that position.

    In admin the menu and submenu order is correct. But on the front end it does not display correctly. I have tried disabling all the plugins but this does not affect the problem. I even deactivated WooCommerce. This did not help either. I republished the pages and even created a new menu with the correct order. None of it seems to have any effect.

    This is my second site using wordpress and the colorway theme, but I am not proficient in html or css.

    Has anyone experienced this and can advise a solution.

    Can you post a link to your site?

    Have you tried clearing any caching on your site and browser?

    I’ve cleared the cache on the browser and tested in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Not sure how to clear the cache on the site? Is that on the server/host?

    Yes, it’s generally a plugin (not all sites have caching) – such as SuperCache?

    Today I tried deleting Woocommerce and performing a clean install. I then deleted the existing menu I had set up and recreated. Still, I haven’t been able to correct the navigation issue. Any help will will be greatly appreciated!

    Sorry, mistyped. I deleted the existing menu and then created a new menu with the same hierarchy.

    i have the same problem and i saw that your mobile version is also messed up(just like mine), ive been trying to figure out how to fix it. i think its the theme because i haven’t installed anything new

    do you have any other problems than the menu?

    I’ve been trying to find a solution for the submenus disappearing on mouse over. Ive read a lot about the top and bottom margins affecting hover. I glanced over the style.css and found this for the menus. The important in the code seems weird. But I don’t know anything about CSS and HTML. Is this normal or could it be affecting my navigation?

    I finally gave up and did a clean install of the Colorway theme and that solved the problem!

    After validating the code at I realized I was in over my head trying to sort it out that way.(no less than 35 errors reported!) I deactivated WooCommerce and any associated plugins, switched over to 2012 and deleted the existing Colorway installation. I then reinstalled and the menus/submenus were functioning perfectly.

    I was having a problem with WooCommerce not calculating tax as I had it configured. I did a clean install of the plugin, reconfigured the tax tables and it began functioning as well.

    I suppose something in the files were corrupted when I ran the updates. At this point I’m just glad the site is working properly again. Thanks for your suggestion WPyogi!

    Can I ask if a theme install is the only known fix? I have a similar problem at, sorry to interrupt another poster’s on-going thread with a question of my own.
