Subfolder to subdomain

  • I am using the latest wordpress. I moved my blog from a subfolder to a subdomain. Now i would like to set up a 301 redirect for all of the posts to the new location. I am using a windows server so apparently i can’t use a .htaccess file to do this. For now i have an html file in the old location that redirects any request to the home page of the new blog, but it won’t append the /?=156 or whatever that wordpress generates for the post url. Anyone know how i can get this working before google crawls me again and finds i am missing several hundred pages of content?

for clarification what i want to do is redirect people/SE’s from domain.com/blog/?=156 to blog.domain.com/?=156

using a windows server so i can’t use the mod_rewrite

  • There are some redirect solution for Win servers – google for them, it is not a WP question.

On the other hand, why would anybody want to be hosted on a win server? If you cannot find a solution your your win server, then the planned move is not a good idea.
