• i have:

    subdomain1.domain.com – wordpress 1
    subdomain2.domain.com – wordpress 2
    subdomain3.domain.com – wordpress 3

    each with:

    *.subdomain1.domain.com – with subdomain network enable 1
    ..
    *.subdomain3.domain.com – with subdomain network enable 3

I’ve done wildcard subdomain tutorial, but it doesn’t work. The error is “Server not found”.

However, if I add unique subdomain:

example.subdomain1.domain.com, and create a site with that name, ‘example’, it works.

Any clue for this problems? Its on shared hosting server.

  • Ask your host if they support wildcard subdomains. It has to be enabled in Apache and for shared hosts they HAVE to do it for you.

It works perfectly on *.domain.com. Should there be other special configuration?

You’re trying to create wildcard SUB Subdomains. Ask them if you can do that.

You may not be able to use foo.sub.domain.com at all.
