 * I just created a subdomain site and each time I install or update a plugin I
   get this message:
 * A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site
 * Your access to this service has been limited. (HTTP response code 403)
 * If you think you have been blocked in error, contact the owner of this site for

 * Hi [@friveraus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/friveraus/), thanks for getting
   in touch!
 * A similar case to this came up recently. If you have Wordfence’s “Extended Protection”
enabled, the plugin may be running before **any** PHP is executed on the entire
root folder and therefore any child folders too if that’s where your subdomain
   lives.
 * You could manually cut the `auto_prepend_file` line in the **.htaccess** or **.
user.ini** (whichever is applicable on your server) inside your root folder and
copy it to a .htaccess/.user.ini that lives only in the original site’s folder.
Let us know if you want any assistance with doing that.
 * In one customer’s case though, they used [Learning Mode](https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/)
to just allow any expected actions on the subdomain. Turn Learning mode on, click
around everything you need to do on your subdomain, then change Wordfence back
to “Enabled and Protecting” and hit save button again.
 * I hope that helps you out!
   Peter.
