subdomain

I’m new to this and want to have my website split into two halves.

The first main site will hold most of the content and will be on my home page.

The second half will be a ‘members area’, i don’t require a login, but i want this area to be seperate from the main site, so there will be no links on the main site to the ‘members area’.

I’ve tried setting up a subdomain using WP SUbdomain plugin but i can’t seem to get it to work.

Is a subdomain the correct way to achieve this? And how do you do it?

Any help much appreciated.
