# Subdirectory problem

 * Greetings.
 * My WordPress (2.0.5) files are currently located in mydomain.tld/blog/, and my
   WP settings are set so mydomain.tld/ is the root.
 * My pages currently display as mydomain.tld/about, mydomain.tld/contact, which
   is good. All my posts reside in /blog/, e.g. mydomain.tld/blog/2006/12/30/moving-
   stuff/, which is also fine and dandy.
 * The problem I’m having is that if I type mydomain.tld/blog/ in manually, I will
   get a 404 page, since it’s not the specified root, and I suspect that my articles
   are not being indexed on Google for that very reason – or at least indexed slower.
 * Is there any way to have my /blog/ either redirect to /, or at least display 
   a message asking the user to go to the root? I thought of creating a page called
   Blog, but I can already see a hell-on-earth reaction as a result of that + it
   would appear in my menu which would look rather odd.

 * I doubt that the .htaccess in /blog/ has any effect at all. Perhaps I should 
   just remove it.
