 * Hi all,
 * I’m using MU with 5 child sites. Its sub-directory way of MU install. And parent
   is in the root folder. I’ve used domain mapping plugin, for mapping to several
   domains. Started with one on GoDaddy, on a test basis.
 * Went through the Domain Mapping plugin’s documentation and did everything told
   as per the text. But it didn’t clicked. 🙁
 * I think its with DNS part, what went wrong. Also while creating the CName record
   found its not supporting (GoDaddy) sub-directory install, record fields are accepting
   only sub-domain value.
 * So, I’m planning to put one or change one site or is there a way to redirect
   sub-domain url to sub-directory install, so that when one access site1.parent.
   com should go to original parent.com/site1? And in that way I can give sub-domain
   value in the CName record, in turn map it to [http://www.site1.com](http://www.site1.com)
 * Thoughts?
 * Thanks in advance. 🙂

 * You’re doing that wrong.
 * You want [http://www.site1.com](http://www.site1.com) to load the content from
   domain.com/site1 right?
 * Use an A-Record and point [http://www.site1.com](http://www.site1.com) to the
   IP for domain.com
 * That’s all 🙂

 * Nope.
    It didn’t work.. (What else I’ve to change?) Also, my other doubt.. As
   per your suggestions, I’ve added an A-Record like xx.xxx.xx.xxx (www.site1.com)
   points to xx.xxx.xx.xxa (domain.com/site1) BUT what with my second, third, fourth,
   etc sites [http://www.site2.com](http://www.site2.com) should point to domain.
   com/site2 [http://www.site3.com](http://www.site3.com) should point to domain.
   com/site3 [http://www.site4.com](http://www.site4.com) should point to domain.
   com/site4, since above four are using same IP (multisite) which is xx.xxx.xx.
   xxa ..
 * Is it OK?
    Can’t we have different IPs for child sites? I’ve checked and found
   all using same IP as that of parent’s. Please clarify.
 * Thanks in advance.
    (Apologies for delaying this reply, as I was not working
   for couple of days)

 * _Everything_ points to the location of domain.com. NOT site1, domain.com.

 * I didn’t say site1, I said domain.com and I meant it. They all point there.
 * > Can’t we have different IPs for child sites?
 * No. Everything runs on domain.com.
