subcategory searching

Hi all,

This is my first time at ever actually trying to truely modify a theme, (I’ve modified the layout etc. so know the basics…)so please bear with me!

What I am trying to do is have a page which displays articles from only one category, in this case named ‘Portfolio’. I have already found out how to do this, but the main problem is using ‘The Loop’ to get the subcategories from the Portfolio category and display whats contained within them in sections titled as that subcategory is titled. The problem is made worse when the subcategories in Portfolio, have further subcategories themselves. E.g. like this:

Portfolio –> University –> Module 1
–> Module 2
–> Module 3
–> Comissioned –> Print
–> Web

So, on the ‘Portfolio’ page, it displays titles saying University, Comissioned, etc, and displays all the results from in their children subcategories.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be really greatful,
