    Hi,

I am setting up a multisite that main site is BuddyPress all others will be blogs. I setup the first sub-domain and it give me a CGI error, any thoughts why this is. This is the sub-domian site: http://news.occupybk.org/

    Thanks!

    Dana

You didn’t set up subdomains correctly on cPanel.

You should be able to just go in and make a subdomain of * and point it to / (yes * and /)

Awesome, thanks! I had added it to DNS records, but didn’t seem to work. With this change it worked.

Thanks so much for your help, it’s much appreciated.

    You’re welcome.

For those wondering why, cPanel has to add in some lines to your httpd.conf to tell it ‘anyting.domain.com goes to domain.com’ – The * is a wildcard for ‘anything’ and the / is a placeholder for domain.com 🙂 WordPress is the smarty who knows how to handle the rest.
