Styling Issues

Hi, first I would like to say, really awesome plugin thank you so much for providing it!

I’m having a problem with styling and positioning of some buttons and some icons. My plugin’s basic layout and the desired look I’m trying to achieve looks like this, http://jsfiddle.net/xRaDz/

When I add the markup to my plugin, the icons and labels get shifted and the span is too wide http://i.imgur.com/5UbRl.png

I would appreciate any help with this. And thanks again for such a stellar plugin.

Hey,

Thanks for the great feedback – we’re delighted you like the plugin 🙂

As for your styling, I’d really need to see it live on a page to comment.

Are you absolutely sure you don’t have any styles from your current theme that might be affecting it. This would be the most likely culprit. If you’re unsure, the best way is to use the Chrome Developer tool, (F12 key) or the Firebug extension on Firefox to inspect the elements on your page and see what styles are affecting it.

Then once you’ve found the style, write your own styles that overwrite them to what you need.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the great suggestion Paul, I was able to locate what the problem was.

It seems the styling was caused by a form tag I had wrapped around the content that had a class of “form-horizontal” which gave it that awkward look. /facepalm – I’m still trying to get a hang of this css thing 😛

Great to hear you got it sorted! CSS is a tough nut to crack, but eventually learn to spot the issues the more you work with it.

Glad you got it sorted.
