 * I’m using the theme “Responsive”
 * In the editor the theme states:
 * “Please do not edit style.css or any other Theme files or
    Templates directly.
   If you do, your customizations will be lost as soon as you update Responsive.”
 * Does this mean that if I change the stylesheet in the editor, found under /wp-
   admin/theme-editor, I’ll have to change my customizations every time there’s
   a new version of the theme released?
 *  Thanks

 * You can a) get a Child Theme [http://themeid.com/docs/child-theme-example/](http://themeid.com/docs/child-theme-example/)
   b) add your custom styles in CSS under the Theme Options.

 * Thanks. I think I’m going to go ahead and get the Child Theme. Do major changes
   to the Parent Theme, such as widget placement or core theme functionality, affect
   the Child or will I have to install a new version of the child and apply the
   changes again?
 * Just an FYI, All I’m really trying to do right now is change the submenu background
   color so they stand out more.

 * If this is from Appearance > Widgets you’re good and safe.

 * I found your tutorial on changing the main header menu color here: [http://themeid.com/help/discussion/3284/primary-menu/](http://themeid.com/help/discussion/3284/primary-menu/)
 * but what I’m looking to do is change the sub-menu colors. Do you have a tutorial
   on changing the sub-menu colors?

 * Same thing, just use:
 * `.sub-header-menu {}`
