# styles.css – primer

 * Hello everyone,
 * I am looking for an explaination of what is going on in the styles.css of most
   themes.
 * Specifically, I want to know how to reduce the spacing around the sidebar in 
   the “Gentle Calm” theme, but a general explaination of what is going on in styles.
   css would help me with future troubles as well.
 * I noticed there is a Wiki [http://wiki.wordpress.org/wp_get_archives](http://wiki.wordpress.org/wp_get_archives)
   for WP topics, but couldn’t find anything about the styles.css file.

 * Most themes differ in their stylesheet. But take a look at Podz’s guide and you
   should be able to figure out the basics of CSS for wordpress.
