Style.css child theme

  • Hi,

I’ve created a child theme for my responsive theme my making a specific style.css for it (quite empty, but referring to the style.css of the original them).
However, stupid-me is modifying in the style.css of the original theme. I would like to copy the style.css of the original theme to the child-theme. But, do I have to copy the lines from style.css (in which it says: get style.css from the original) into the style.css of the orignal one? You can’t have 2 style.css in a thema, so what are the right steps to take?

    thanks in advance.

To copy the parent theme’s styles over, use @import and refer the parent’s stylesheet.

To override your parent theme’s styles, copy over the styles’ CSS selectors into your Child Theme stylesheet. Then what ever styles you apply to those selectors should override the parent’s styles.
