• *Newby* I’m learning by doing but I don’t see changes I’ve made within style.css. The information I could find in the forums indicates that style.css tends to change immediately while php files tend to take time. Am I missing some key understanding or just changing the wrong margins, colors, code?

    hello,

the style.css contains all of the main styles for this theme but there is a also a flexslider stylesheet that controls the slider and seperate stylesheets for the different color options. Can you tell me what you are trying to change?

    thanks

Ossie, at this point I’m just playing with the code in style.css so I can see (hands on) what code controls what aspects of the page views. So I’ve changed various margins, color codes, images but when I update the file I don’t see any variations to my work. I want to vary the font and the “feel” of the site to focus on a fitness equipment e-commerce look. Should the changes for the .css files be changed real-time or do server updates mean a lag time between changes and visibility of the changes?

One thing I’m not understanding about the code is how the style sheet “talks” to the html code that defines the specific text I want shown for my website. I’m taking a css tutorial so I can better grasp what the style sheet is telling me.
