 * I’m new to WordPress and plugin development. I wanted to add a version check
   to the admin page of my plugin. Is that an acceptable thing to do?
 * If so I was planning on doing a little ajax request from the admin page unless
   there is a better way to do it.
 * Thanks.
 * Bill

 * why u want to do that? WP2.3 will check your plugin version against the repo
   one.
