Style / Layout messed up on every theme (8 posts)

    Hey there guys -

    My site - http://www.RecoveryInSD.org - randomly had the formatting change on any theme that I try to use. The one that I use is VisitPress and that is the only one that I have used from the start..

    I was just looking at the crazy layout again and noticed that my slideshow (Cylcone) was not only displayed but the code was also showing up on the page.. I can only see one set for 'body' - shouldnt there be a closing one? I'm not the best at coding, not good at all with this stuff -

    <body <?php body_class(); ?> id="top">
    <div id="wrapper-header">
      <div id="header">
      <div id="header-title">
        <p class="site-title"><a href="<?php echo esc_url( home_url( '/' ) ); ?>"><?php bloginfo( 'name' ); ?></a></p>
        <p class="site-description"><?php bloginfo( 'description' ); ?></p>
      </div>

        <?php if ( has_nav_menu( 'header-menu' ) ) { ?>
        <div id="menu-container">
        <div id="menu">
          <?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'menu_id'=>'nav', 'theme_location'=>'header-menu' ) );?>
        </div>
        </div><?php } ?>
        <div class="search-box-outer">
          <div class="search-box-inner">
          <div class="search-box-shadow">
    <?php get_search_form(); ?>

    <center>  [cycloneslider id="my-buddy-buddha"]  </center>

          </div>
          </div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>

    Anyone have any ideas on how or why this happened? Last night I was working with WP SEO and then this morning I refreshed it and the formatting was all off.

    Any ideas on what is going on here before I try and upload a back up? The backup is only a few days old but if I don't have to I'd rather not..

    @pinamalayan - Your formatting looks fine on your page.

    I also installed a donation plugin, however I disabled that and the WP Seo plugin with no changes.

    Also I'd like to add that my admin page works fine. Everything is functioning as it should, and displayed properly.

    @phrone, when I try to look at your style.css file, I get a file permission error. That's probably the problem, and why every other theme looks screwed up as well, the stylesheet can't be read. Did you make a change to the .htaccess file recently? That file should be readable by everyone.

    By the way, I think pinamalayan's just posting spam, because the site he just linked to is not even a WordPress site.

    @pinamalayan, if your site is supposed to be a WordPress site, then someone has hacked it and you need to clean it out.

    I did for some reason yes, I can't remember why. Why should the CHOMD settings be for the .htaccess and the style.css be?

    Thank you for your reply also

    Finally got it back working, thank you!!

    Do these look good for settings?

    ALL directories = 755
    ALL files (including your theme files) = 644
    .htaccess = 644 is good, but go for 444 if install could handle it. chmod to 777 when you need to update permalinks or htaccess rules then chmod back to 644/444 right away after you're done.

    Ah, good. Yes, those settings look fine, glad you were able to figure it out.
