Be gentle with me, because I can’t figure this one out. If you don’t want a link visible on your blog, why put it in the link manager?

Do hidden links still show up in Technorati and other link trackers?

That’s the only reason I can think of why you’d want to go to the bother of entering a link… and then hiding it! So you get credit for linking to another site without actually showing the link on your blog.

Although I’m still unsure why anybody would want to do even that.

Link Q1. I personally have a number of links I keep track of, but for one reason of another (site is down, I’m not presently visiting it, and many others) do not presently list on my blog. So I find the visibility setting quite useful.

    Link Q2. Nope.

Let me clear something up: switching the visible setting to No for a link tells WordPress whether or not to display that link through any template tags dealing with the Link Manager. It’s a way of disabling the link without deleting it. It has nothing to do with “link karma” or such. It’s merely an on/off switch for showing the link on your site.
