# stuck running the install script

 * Hey there, so I’m installing WordPress to my site with FileZilla, I’ve uploaded
   all the files correctly, but I’m stuck at “Step 5: Run the Install Script.” When
   I go to [http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php)(
   replacing example with my site’s name) I just get an “Oops! This link appears
   to be broken.” page. Is there anything I could have missed?

 * Are you sure that you’ve uploaded the files to the right directory? You may have
   to contact your hosting provider.

 * Hmm, I’m not so sure anymore.

 * you’ll have to forgive me as I’m pretty new at this, I need to upload it to the
   root directory; would highlighting all the files on the left hand side and then
   just right-clicking and going “upload” be okay? Or is there a specific area I
   need to drag them to or something? Sorry I know next to nothing, haha.

 * Yeah, that’s the problem. You need to upload all of the files to the `public_html`
   directory.
 * I’m not about specific directions for your FTP client, but I’d assume that you
   could just drag and drop the files.

 * Hmm, that fixed the getting a blank page but now I get ‘Error establishing a 
   database connection’.
