    Just after I create a file wp-config.php with the generated info from the first step of installation and upload it, I get this error.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /www/dir/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/pluggable-deprecated.php on line 51

    Any known problems? line 51 is

    _deprecated_function( __FUNCTION__, ‘3.3’, “get_user_by(‘login’)” );

    I’m using zymic servers
    Thank you

  • Are you installing from a fresh download

    Yes sir, uploading a fresh copy onto the server. I unzipped onto my computer than dragged everything onto the server.

    Some files must have corrupted when uploaded them you will try and upload again or if you use cpanel sheck if you have feature to unzip file on server.

    Why not use the wp-config.php from the WordPress download rather than create a new one?

    Simply add your database details to this file before you upload WordPress to your server

    Why aren’t you using a recommdended host which offers one click installation of WordPress?

    This will avoid any manual installation of WordPress

    it was most likely an issue with the provider, i switched to a host that provides instant installation and it worked flawlessly. thanks

    If you are installing wordpress manually you do not have to edit wp-config.php file anymore as the install program will create the file for you.

    All you need to do is create database using database wizard that most cpanels have and keep copy of user name password and database name and just go to url where you uploaded wordpress and install program will open and just follow instructions.

    I would recommend that you learn how to use ftp and server as if you run in problems in future you will need to use this tools.

    Its ok to install with install program like fantastico but at the same time learn how and where your wordpress files and folders are so that you can update manually if you run into problem updating automatically from admin panel
