Hello,
Since the new WordPress update Gutenberg, I have not been able to publish on my blog.
The + button/option at the top of the Gutenberg publishing page isn’t working and is not even on. I have tried to disable all my pluggings thinking that it might be one of those not compatible with the new update. but nothing. And all the files get attached in HTML code instead of how the usual media would have been.

Please help! I even tried going back to the classic editor thinking it might work, but it still isn’t.
And therefore I can’t add any block. I am stuck. I don’t know what to do. I even changed my theme thinking that Gutenberg might just not be compatible with my theme but I can’t Add(+) or attac media. Helllpppp!!!!

Hi,

The issue sounds similar to the one reported in this thread:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-and-block-editor-are-gone/

The solution in that case was to go to ‘Edit my profile’ in the top right corner and deselect the ‘Disable the visual editor when writing’ option.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I tried everything but The + button still not active on my Gutenberg and the classic Editor only attaches files in Code now.

I’m so scared to loose my blog I have worked so hard to grow.
Not really sure what to do or who to go to for help. Does it mean I will have to change blogging platforms? I feel really down now.

@modebycece91 if you’re hosted with AWS, check out https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/12927#issuecomment-450880090 for some possible solutions.

If you’re hosted elsewhere, it’s possible something in the server configuration is awry and if you contact your host and link them to the solution above that may help you track down the source of the problem with their help.
