• After a lot of trial and error I finally got as far as being able to select the google account I want to connect with. But now, when I want to insert an image from my Google Drive and click ‘link with Google Drive’ I get a popup screen which immediately dissapears before I can even read it. What goes wrong and why? I have spent an entire day to try and get this plugin to work, as it would finally be a good replacement for the apparently abandoned Photo Express plugin. I was quite disappointed it does not seem to work, whatever I try….

@heerenleed do you see any errors in browser console? Possibly Drive API in your Google console is disabled?

I wish I could make this smoother, the plugin is highly relies on those third-party services and unfortunately there is not easy way to preconfigure it or make it one click installable.

thanks, @minnur. I tried once more and much to my surprise I can now import from my Google Drive.
However, what I really want is make selected google photos show in my posts, without having to import them. I could do that using the apparantly abandoned Photo Express for Google which works fantastically, but which won’t work with Gutenberg. I tried the External Media plugin with Guitenberg, it seems to work, but only if I import the images into my own media library which is exactly what I try to avoid. Is there a way to use Google Photos without having to import?

@heerenleed unfortunately the plugin doesn’t have that functionality and it is currently only imports files from those external services into WordPress library.

thanks for your quick reply @minnur. Sorry to hear there is no way of using google Photos without importing them. I was really looking for a replacement of Photo Express and hoped I had found it, but alas. I know the extreme effort you have to put in developing a plugin, especially with the new Gutenberg demanding a lot of extra input so I hate to ask, but is there any chance that functionality will be added to the plugin in the future? It gave the impression it had it already, but the only thing it does is putting a link in my post instead of a thumbnail….
