Firstly, I am a complete novice at all of this and so need some advice aimed at a child to be honest.
I am helping to set up a podcast and feedburner etc etc for this website page:
The site is hosted on freehostia. The site was made using a standard website template (not wordpress or anything like that – im using this forum for help as it seems to be one of the few options i can find for help).
When entering the webpage into feedburner it came back with this message:
The URL does not appear to reference a valid XML file. We encountered the following problem: Unknown feed format encountered (The root element is [Element: <html [Namespace: http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml%5D/>%5D)
When looking at it with feed validator it came back with this message:
It looks like this is a web page, not a feed. I looked for a feed associated with this page, but couldn’t find one. Please enter the address of your feed to validate.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”>
<html xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml” dir=”ltr” lang=”en-US”>
Can anyone help me to resolve these issues and get this site communicating with feedburner as I really dont know how and would appreciate any help from any of you guys?
