Structrual Question (Category/Page)

    @thornomad

    Hi,

    I am still in the planning/design stages of my website. I will have three categories (to start) with three different types of content: a blog, a music category (with mp3/rss feeds), and a audiobook category (mp3/rss/podcast).

    I would like for the sidebar information to be tailored differently towards each of my three categories when my viewers are on a category page (for example, showing post listings for each category, as well as links to each way to get the syndicated content — for example, through iTunes). I know I am able to create category.php docs for each category number, but I would also like the appropriate category specific links/sidebar to match up with individual posts people are viewing.

    My question is about how the best way is to do this. My thought was to go into sidebar.php and create a set of if:else functions … if category:blog, then show this stuff, if category:music, show this, if it is a page, show this, etc …

    Is that the best way to do it ?

    Thanks,
    damon
