  • Hi, I’ve been working on WordPress to make it look like my site. Basically, I’ve stripped it down to basically just the blog/news posts and allowing people to register/comment on the posts. There’s no searching, no sidebar, no pages, etc. I’ve replaced the content in pages like sidebar.php and attachment.php to

    // Silence is golden.

    because I do not want to include these.

    I’ve also replaced the template’s header.php and footer.php with my site’s original header.php/footer.php, so it doesn’t contain things like
    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress <?php bloginfo('version'); ?>" /> <!-- leave this for stats -->
    or <?php wp_head(); ?>

    Basically, all I am using is: index.php, archive.php, archives.php, comments.php, functions.php, and single.php

    It works fine so far like that, but my main question to you is:

    Because I have basically removed the code from all the pages not mentioned above in my template’s directory, am I weakening the security of my blog? Thanks.
