Support » Fixing WordPress » Stripe Plugin Not Working In LIve Mode

  • I have installed the stripe plugin which does test transactions successfully. When I move to “live mode” the stripe checkout page still displays test mode and will only do test transactions.
    I have contacted stripe who say that the problem most likely is with my wordpress site.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi @colmfinnan

    Have you removed the “Test mode” in the WooCommerce settings?
    And filled in the LIVE API keys?

    Best regards
    Aris Kuckovic

    Thanks for your swift response Aris.

    I am not using Woocommerce. I am just using WP stripe checkout plugin

    I have Live api keys installed and in live mode.

    @colmfinnan

    Ah okay!
    Sounds strange – and it’s not due to any caching?
    I mean – I’ve only used Stripe with Woo – but it should work out of the box – like if you go LIVE – it should load the LIVE enviroment on Stripe aswell.

    No I’ve cleared cache. I’ve tried to checkout on a different device and it still shows test mode

    Did you code the AJAX yourself?
    Or are you using shortcodes?

    Also, what Stripe plugin are you using? 🙂

    No. I’m using the code they provided.I just pasted it into elementor module

    WP Stripe Checkout v1.1.4

    @colmfinnan

    I see you’re not alone with this issue.

    >> According to Stripe, a product created in test mode cannot be used for live purchases. <<

    Can this be the issue?

    I had not seen that anywhere in the documentation.you could well be right.

    I have since used the stripe payments plugin instead which is now working no problem.

    Many thanks for your efforts in helping me anyway….the questions you were asking led me to believe that I needed to try another route..which thankfully worked.

    @colmfinnan

    Sounds good!
    Glad I could point you in a direction.
    I wish you all the best with the project 🙂
