# Stripe payment error

 * Hi,
    We are using your plug-in now and its working really smoothly. However this
   morning I had an email with the subject “Stripe Payments Error”, and the contents
   of the email was “Following error occured during payment processing:
 * Your card was declined.”
 * Can you tell me if this from the plug-in or Stripe?
    Do you know if the customer
   been notified, or did they get the successful transaction message and redirection
   to the checkout results page? I have checked both your plugin and website and
   cannot find any info on how failed transactions are handled, can you direct me
   to the relevant info please? Thx alot!

   Can you tell me how I can test the error message? Is there a test card number
   that will result in showing the error message?

 * Thanks, I found this already, same as the link above.
    Problem is that it does
   not test the error message handling of the plugin, any info how I can do this?

 * If you’re using default checkout (thank you) page, the error will be displayed
   to the customer. If you want to create your own thank you page, you have to follow
   the instructions provided in the documentation link.
 * If you want to test how the payments are handling, you should enable test mode
   and refer to this documentation from Stripe: [https://stripe.com/docs/testing](https://stripe.com/docs/testing).
   For example, if you wanna test various errors handling, you might wanna refer
   to this section: [https://stripe.com/docs/testing#cards-responses](https://stripe.com/docs/testing#cards-responses)
