Hi, and thanks in advance for your help.

Here’s the situation. I’m an artist. When a customer places an order, it may take me 2 to 3 weeks to fill that order and I really think it’s inappropriate for my customer’s credit card to be charged before I’m ready to ship.

Using the Stripe WooCommerce Gateway, I can set it so that the charge is “authorized” at the time of the order and “captured” when the order is marked as complete. That’s fine, but apparently, the authorization expires after 7 days. My question is; what happens when I “complete” an order in WooCommerce when the associated Stripe “authorization” has expired? And/or; is there a way to reauthorize a charge without involving the customer?

    Thanks again

The charge will not go through, you will see this in the Stripe Logs as a payment failure.

No, this is not possible. The charge will need to be made again by your customer.

    Thank you.

I don’t like those answers but, nonetheless, I do appreciate you taking time to answer my questions.

    Thank you.
