Streching header/banner

    I am uploading my header image in the specs listed on the header page: “Images should be at least 96 pixels tall. Suggested width is 392 pixels” using these settings though, the image get’s stretched about 3/4 the width of the header. Is there something I am doing wrong? What size should the header/logo be? Thanks for any help.
