    Hi
I am getting strange thumbnails in any feed I create. As you will see from the linked page it is showing wallpaper with a black hanging picture or board. The link goes through to the correct listing on ebay but ebay does not have the same thumbnail. I posted a week or so ago that these images were too big and were very ugly in the feed but you sorted that by giving me a snippet of code then you updated the plugin. However I still get these strange images
This is happening in every feed I create.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you

    Hi,

Do you have the shortcode or the feed URL for that page? I can test at my end.

    Thanks

    Rhys

    Here is the shortcode:

    [ebayfeedsforwordpress feed=”http://rest.ebay.com/epn/v1/find/item.rss?keyword=buttons&categoryId1=14339&sortOrder=BestMatch&programid=15&campaignid=5336385501&toolid=10039&listingType1=All&descriptionSearch=true&feedType=rss&lgeo=1″ items=”40″ template=”number-one”]

    Thank you

    Hi Maureen,

Looking at the feed you’ve given me (http://rest.ebay.com/epn/v1/find/item.rss?keyword=buttons&categoryId1=14339&sortOrder=BestMatch&programid=15&campaignid=5336385501&toolid=10039&listingType1=All&descriptionSearch=true&feedType=rss&lgeo=1), the images being displayed are the ones in the feed…

I’m not entirely sure why though, but it’s not a problem at the plugin’s end, and you’ll have to speak with eBay’s Partner Network Programme as to why this is happening.

Sorry I cannot be more help.

    Rhys

Thanks for looking at it for me. I will do as you suggest and get in touch with EPN

Same problem here. Happening everywhere I display the feeds on my wordpress sites. Hope to hear back from @maureenpage

Now I’ll go try to get help from EPN…that should be fun…

At least I’m not crazy! 🙂

This has been happening on my feed for the past week or two as well where the
black hanging picture/board image seems to appear in a number of listings. It was previously taking up the whole page but the ‘max-width’ fix has at least made it nicer. Although I use the AMP for WP plugin for all of my mobile pages and the ‘max-width’ doesn’t seem to be working on this plugin. Do we need to manually update the CSS of the AMP plugin somewhere?

You would have to speak to who made the AMP Plugin, but I guess so.

It looks like all multi-variation items (where you can change the colour, amount, etc) are all appearing with this generic thumbnail – https://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/pict/04040_0.jpg – rather than the proper thumbnail from the eBay listing. Is there some code that can be changed so that the proper thumbnail appears…maybe by removing variation duplicates or something. If not possible, is it at least possible to change the generic thumbnail that appears as it is quite large at 1600x1600px. It gets quite ugly when there are multiple of these in the feed as can be seen in the original poster’s feed link.

That will be an eBay end, rather than the plugin end. Beyond a “don’t show any listing that URL is the Generic Thumbnail”, I am unsure what else I can do on this.
