Normally my newsletters have a sender address of newsletter@domain.org (not actual address) but this week they were send from my alternate address sort of, it was send from

    sue=my domain.com@63501.replies.sendingservice.net

Again not my actual domain. Why would this have changed all of a sudden? This is causing problems with the recipients of my newsletter because they don’t recognize the sender.

Please does anyone have an explanation of this and how to I get it back to “normal”

    Hi there @designbysue,

If you have not yet verified your domain as a Sender Domain in your MailPoet account and you are sending through our service, then the sender address would be rewritten like that.

Please make sure you have verified your domain as described in our guide here:
    https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/295-spf-dkim-dmarc#set-up-dkim-for-your-domain-when-using-the-mss

If you are still having any trouble after that, please let us know your domain so that we can look up your account to check.

    Thank you!

I had added the domain but the dmarc line was not verified. I have reverified the dns records and now all are showing as verified. Another newsletter will go out this weekend and I will see if this fixed it. Thanks!

I looked into your MailPoet account and noticed that your sender domain for calvarypresbychurch.org is already verified. Let us know if you are still having trouble with this.

This continues to be a problem, can you please assist me further? Yes the account is verified but the sender address is still not correct. Anyone??

Just to make sure we are on the same page, your sender domain with calvarypresbychurch.org is verified but you are using a different email address to send emails? If that is the case, check if you have authorized the FROM email address as mentioned in https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/266-how-to-add-an-authorized-email-address-as-the-from-address

    Thread Starter designbysue

    (@designbysue)

I keep trying to verify the calvarypresbychurch.org email address by adding it to the authorize page on mail poet but I don’t get an email to confirm. The address on calvarypresbychurch.org is a forwarder not a full account, could that be causing a problem?

Further complicating this is my address ***@designbysue.com is a verified address because the account was originally set up with that address.

However at the top of the authorization page there is a statement “All emails from your sender domains (calvarypresbychurch.org) are automatically authorized”. Yet it seems the designbysue.com address is complicating the process.

I don’t want to remove (if even possible) the designbysue.com address because then there won’t be any verified address (because I can’t verify the calvary address) and I a afraid the newsletters will not go out.

This worked perfectly before I added Dmarc to my server for the calvary site.

Please help me get this cleared up because with the strange from address as described in my original post some of the subscribers newsletters are being sent to their junk folders.

    Thank you

    Hello again @designbysue,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The calvarypresbychurch.org email address should be automaically verified already since the domain name has been verified and as such it won’t be listed under your verified addresses, so you don’t need to worry about.

What I suspect is that some of the emails you have created before adding DMARC still has the older verified email address set up as the FROM address. If that’s the case your emails might not send out.

So kindly check that all the existing emails have the email address calvarypresbychurch.org set up as their FROM address and also ensure the calvarypresbychurch.org email address is setup under MailPoet > Settings > Basic > Default FROM address.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers!

This continues to be a problem. I have completly removed the address that is referenced in the strange sending address so now the account only has calvarypresbychurch.org as a sender. I did this then sent a test newsletter to a “test” group which is only me and the newsletter editor and it appeared that it had cleared up and that the errant address was gone but still every week when the newsletter is sent out to the full list it is being sent from sue=designbysue.com@63501.replies.sendingservice.net. Again this designbysue has been complete removed from the mailpoet account. The return address is showing up correctly. How can I get this corrected? Please help.

    Hi again,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with our plugin.

As my colleague suggested even if you have already checked that the FROM email address is correct under MailPoet > Settings > Basic , the old FROM email address could be selected for an existing email.

but still every week when the newsletter is sent out to the full list it is being sent from sue=designbysue.com@63501.replies.sendingservice.net.

So, please edit that newsletter or post notification that is being sent every week and make sure that the FROM email address selected is the current one.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you Dani for explaining so that I got it this time. I did not see the setting within the email itself but found it and sure enough the old address was there! Have updated that so fingers crossed.

    Thanks to all that helped!
