Strange problem with star rating – stars turned to SSSSS

Hi,

Yesterday I installed a new theme on my wordpress and noticed that star ratings are turned into SSSSS.

I switched back to my previous theme but again no luck.

I checked the loaded CSS on my site and noticed that the CSS codes related to star font is there.

I would teally appreciate your help regarding this issue.

The star font has not loaded.

The console error message is: “Access to Font at ‘https://serialcart.com/sys-addons/woocommerce/assets/fonts/star.woff’ from origin ‘https://avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘https://avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com’ is therefore not allowed access.

So the star font is on the resource domain: “serialcart.com” but this is a different domain to the requesting domain “avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com”. https prevents cross-domain access.

The fix is to configure “serialcart.com” to allow requests from “avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com”.

To do so, put this line in the .htaccess for “serialcart.com”

Header add Access-Control-Allow-Origin "avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com"

Oh and one other question please…

The magnifier in my search is also not working and just showing a square instead of the magnifier icon.

I would really appreciate if you help me about it too.

The icon is trying to use the dashicons font. This font is loaded into “cdn.serialcart.com” but not into “avira-antivirus-internet-security.serialcart.com”.

I think you can load it using the “Enqueue the script” code here:

The code goes in functions.php for your child theme or you can use the “My Custom Functions” plugin. Sorry, not tested.

I know maybe this is not a good place to ask this question but since I am also using fontawesome in my site, would it be possible to replace the magnifier from the dashicons with one from the fontawesome icons ?
