Strange Password Prompt?

  • Hello,

I have a weird phenomenon happening.

Yesterday, while logged in (to /wp-admin) and looking at my blog, only in Firefox, I get prompted for a username/pass combo. This doesn’t happen in IE nor when I am logged out.

    Can anyone explain this?

I am using 2.0.3 and I haven’t changed my template or added any plugins this week.

    Thanks, in advance.

  • What’s the prompt look like (details)?

It looks like what you might see when you go to a protected (see .htaccess, .htpasswd) directory. IE probably cached the login/pass already?

Some of your included files (js, images) could be in protected directory. Or even you could be using directory names like “cpanel”.

What happens when you click cancel? if the page loads, it means one or more of the files are in protected dir.

    Hope this helps..

spencerp and Michael B, feel free to delete my reply / profile if you find it advertising. Thats a lot better than using abusive words..

I just messed with my .htaccess

It looks like the FAlbum plugin I used, put it’s .htaccess information in twice somehow…

    Thanks again!
