Support » Plugin: Polylang » Strange issue multilangual homepage slider

  • Hello,

I’m using the Brasserie Pro theme from templateexpress and having an issue with the multilingual homepage slider.

I added 3 posts for the frontpage slider in 3 different languages. The featured images are used for the slider. I’m using the free Polylang plugin.

When I go to the webpage at the default language (NLD) its displaying only the Dutch text which is good. But when I change the language to GER or ENG the slider is displaying all text (one language after another). Not only the GER or ENG slider text.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a “issue?” in Polylang or The theme? Templateexpresse asked me to put this question here because they didn’t know where to look for this possible issue.

If you like, I can send the URL, admin and FTP by email. Sorry for not posting the URL over here. The website is on my test server.

All plugins, including WordPress, are up-to-date and latest versions.

    Thanks,
    Vincent Volmer

  • First, not a plugin is not compatible with a them, the other way around is the right term. Or, would you every say WordPress is not compatible with a theme?! 😉

How did you created the three posts for the slider?
    Are they linked to eachother?

Mostyl the reason for an issue like yours is, the posts are not linked or have no language assigned or the loop (for the output) is customized and does not check for the language.

Thanks! And No! I don’t blame you, the plugin, the theme or wordpress….. I didn’t know where to start. To ask it over here was the theme author’s idea 😉

    (01) I created a post for the slider, including text and featured image (NL)
    (02) Added this page to the new created ‘Featured’ category
    – The slider displays the featured images from this category only.
    (03) [PUBLISH]

    (04) Clicked on the + for another language page (DE)
    (05) Added text
    (06) No category “Featured” available, so added a new one
    (07) Added this page to the ‘Featured’ category
    (08) [PUBLISH]

    (09) Clicked on the + for another language page (EN)
    (10) Added text
    (11) No category “Featured” available, so added a new one
    (12) Added this page to the ‘Featured’ category
    (13) [PUBLISH]

This is how I did it. I created another page to check and the same effect.

    Regards,
    Vincent Volmer
