Strange image name index added

    Some images have an number “index” added to his filename. For example IMG_4444 have filename IMG_4444-exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.jpg

    do you have similar experience? did you know which plugin or theme can cause this ?

    Hi, you can try change theme and disable your plugin and test. So you can check from the plugin or not

    Changing the theme and plugin isn’t going to change the current file names back. Images are stored in the media directory.

    My guess is some image manipulation plugin like maybe an image compression plugin might be creating a secondary copy to prevent destroying the original. Is this causing you any issues or are you just curious about it?
