Strange folder creation

    Hi,
    the site was infected.
    I deleted any suspicious file added or compromised reported to me by my hoster’s malware detection tool (now it says is ok) and then I performed a scan both with Wordfence and other tools on line, Sucuri Check, Quttera…
    All these tools say the site is clean
    But I noticed a strange thing, apparently non related to WP.
    When I create a folder in the my hosting (e.g. “honeypot” in the example I provide below), after a while a new subfolder “ad” is created with plenty of subfolder and strange files .txt containg sequences of characters…

    There are plenty of chances that is malicious code, but who generates it?

    Anybody had the same creepy experience? ANy idea or solutions?

    Hey @drauth,

    It really doesn’t look malicious. But the fact they create themselves is a little unnerving. You might reach out to your host to see if they’re files they create for some reason.
