strange Featured Image issue with IE and Firefox

  • I’ve just deployed a fairly run-of-the-mill site for a client, and there’s a strange issue with setting the Featured Image for a post. At first I was sure they had something weird going on with their machine (always a developer’s first thought! ;-), but I checked using the browsers they were using and they’re right.

Basically, in Firefox (I tried with 3.6) and IE (I’m on 8, 64-bit), when you press “Set featured image”, the pop-up seems to have some formatting missing, and only the “Media Library” tab is visible. When I select an image from there and press “Use as featured image”, I get the red “Saving…” notice, and that’s it. Nothing happens from there – you can close the pop-up, but the image doesn’t get set.

The exact same process works perfectly for me on Opera 10, Chrome 6 and
    Safari 5.

Obviously for now I’ve told them to use Chrome, but has anyone seen anything like this?
