    Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to WordPress so please be patient with my ignorance. I've set up a fresh install of the latest version last evening. There's a plugin that I'd like to add, but whenever I go to the Add New section of the Plugins area, I get this weird message in the place where the plugins database should be:

You may also browse based on the most popular tags in the Plugin Directory:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

I put up a screenshot here:

I've Googled around but I haven't found the answer yet. I've tried checking permissions, putting a fresh copy of all the wordpress files on the server, editing the hosts file of the server to include api.wordpress.org. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The WordPress importer plugin. I need to restore a backup copy of another wordpress site to migrate it to this box.
