• Hello. I have created a new database and added a new db user with passwd to it. When login from terminal no error appear and I can se the following:
mysql> SHOW DATABASES;
Database
information_schema
test
webkocxk_frontpage
3 rows in set (0.05 sec)

But after several try I still got this message:
Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

This installation is on a Mac OS X 10.7.5 and I have many different databases and databases users on this box.. Never before have I had this error and need some thoughts to debug ..

Kind Regards,
