I’m setting up my store. Each post is a link to the product on Amazon, the description of the product, then a “click on the description of the product to see it and buy it.”

I’m almost done and I clicked on “view post” to be sure that it looked good.

The link is 404. The link is https://amzn.tc/code ending in “> quote bracket.

The description ends with bracket slash a bracket.

I know that the HTML is correct because the first posts are fine.

The 404 goes to website url/amzn.tc etc.

Why is the url for the website showing up when the link is to Amazon?

  • Let me see if I get this correct:

    1. You create a post
    2. The content of the post is a link to the product page (external site)
    3. If you go to the post, and click on the link in the description, it is not working properly

    Is that correct?

Yes. It goes to my website with the html code at the end

In the edit post page, change to view it as html, and check if the link is being properly set.

I don’t have an HTML view, just text and visual. Visual is correct when I check it. When I click on it, it shows as the correct link.

Now I clicked on it and the link is gone. Url is not there. I have to try to get the HTML code from,Amazon.

This is so strange. If I update it and click on Visual, the HTML codes are gone. I’ve had to redo them each time.

May be the html code is being filtered by WordPress editor?

How would I set it to not filter through the editor?

Someone told me that the Classic Editor is the problem. No other explanation was offered. So, how do I deactivate this and why is this causing my problem?

It could be a plugin or theme conflict with Classic Editor.

He installed the Classic Editor plugin. The website seems to be working now. I’m not sure what the problem was since I didn’t have the plugin before.
