    Hi

I have been working with a separate church center page on our site but would prefer to move it to the front page of the site so it is more immediately available. This will mean displaying the cards (I am using small card view) within a widget on the front page. Using the shortcode I can see the card titles but no actual cards display. Any idea why this might be.

I have taken screen-shots of the “Hub page”, which is our stand alone page that is displaying correctly and what we get on the frontpage…

    Hub page: https://www.dropbox.com/s/edc1r6el8qo03v6/HubPage.png?dl=0
    Frontpage: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3b3y0p7ntp19da/Frontpage.png?dl=0

I’d be very grateful if you were able to shed any light on this.

    Many thanks,
    Paul

    Hey Paul,

Could you please tell me the URL of the page itself so I can take a look?
I suspect there’s some styles in your theme which are overiding things, but I’d need to look at the actual page to check.

    Hi

Many thanks for getting back. The URL of the page is http://www.thornhillbc.org.uk , but as it is the front page of our church website I had to remove the Church Centre shortcode when it didn’t work right. In terms of placement, I am planning to remove the five large picture links to “Community”, “Sundays”, “Small Groups” etc. and place the Church Centre there. Not sure how much you can tell without me putting the shortcode back though?

    Many thanks,
    Paul

Hey Paul – would it be possible to insert the shortcode into another page somewhere (not linked in the menu or anything) so I could take a look at it in position?

    Hi

I have done that and it works correctly on the other page (https://www.thornhillbc.org.uk/hub/) so it must be something about our frontpage which kills the formatting.

Hey Paul – that definitely sounds like the case. It sounds likely there is some CSS code in your theme, specifically for the Home page, which over-rides the default styles of the Hub/Center.
