    Hello folks,

I have a subdomain-type multisite install, one that has been working fine for a while. Today, I tried to setup a new site within that multisite install, and I’m having some odd problems.

    The story is this:

My base domain is mindfulmammoth.com. I’ve bought puzzleoflifegame.com, and I want to have it map to a new subdomain @ puzzleoflifegame.mindfulmammoth.com.

At this moment, if you go to puzzleoflifegame.com, then you will find the standard “Hello World” placeholder page. However, if you try to go to puzzleoflife.mindfulmammoth.com, you get a DNS error. What this means is that I can view my new site, but I can’t edit anything, as the WordPress dashboard/editor uses the subdomain url (puzzleoflife.mindfulmammoth.com/…), and that subdomain URL doesn’t work.

    My steps:
    1) I visited my host, Lunar Pages, and used the Lunar Pages Control Panel (LCPC) to park the new domain “puzzleoflifegame.com” on my host domain “mindfulmammoth.com”.
    2) In WordPress, I went to Dashboard -> Sites -> Add New, and registered a new site at puzzleoflifegame.mindfulmammoth.com.
    3) In WordPress, I went to Settings -> Domain Mapping, and connected puzzleoflifegame.com with the appropriate site ID.

Yet, it’s not working right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    – Tim

Sigh. This is actually a repeat of a question I asked years ago. I just forgot all about it. The solution is to go to my web host, and add the new subdomain to the list of parked domains.

    All good now.
