Strange change in backup file size

    I’ve noticed some strange changes recently in the file size of the database backup generated by the WordPress Database Backup (v1.8) plug-in. Here are the sizes of the last several backups, chronologically from oldest to most recent:

    544kb
    756kb
    756kb
    772kb
    788kb
    492kb
    452kb

    I did not add any large amount content that I can think of between the first two, so I’m not sure why the size jumped up so much there. Recently, I have deleted a handful of pages and posts. The drop in the last two seems possible as a result of this, but I can’t imagine why the previous drop from 788kb to 492kb would have happened.

    Any thoughts?
