    I can’t figure out, where the green asterixes come from near each tab. Very strange …

    Hey,
    Those are being output from this css:

    article ul li:before, .archive-title ul li:before {
        content: "✲";
        position: absolute;
        left: -2.5em;
        width: 2em;
        text-align: right;
        color: #5dae59;
    }

    Are you adding that?

    Hi Hannah,
    good question. The answer is: sure no.
    But thanks, I see it now and can fix it.
    Keep up the good work and enjoy the holidays.

    Sorry, one more question: How can I remove this without changing the style.css in the theme?

    Are you using a child theme? That code isn’t output from the theme, though I can’t tell where it’s coming from. Did you find it in your style.css?

    Yes, I found it and disabled it, but that will be gone the next time the theme is updated.
    I contacted the developer, but don’t know if he sees a reason to remove it permanently.
    Yes, I am using a child theme, but don’t know how to disable or overwrite it there.
    Thanks for checking with me.

    When you say you contacted the developer whom do you mean? Have you hired your own developer for this site?
    If you’ve removed the code from your style.css in your child theme then this change will be saved upon updating. As long as the change is being made within the child theme.

    Thanks Hannah,
    I’ve contacted the devolper of the theme.
    The child theme is mostly empty. I’ve changed the main theme, in order to fix this. But I know it will be gone, the next time the theme is updated.
    I have no clou, have to put this modification in the child theme, since I’m not adding or changing something, but delete it.
    Thanks for hanging in here with me,
    Frank

    A much simpler solution would be to add some css like this:

    article ul li:before, .archive-title ul li:before {
        display: none;
    }

    That will override and hide the symbols.
    Hope that helps!
