Support » Plugin: Fonts » Straightforward plugin – pay requirement for Google/custom font functionality

  • Basically what the title says:
    – the plugin works
    – it’s really easy and straightforward to use if all you want to do is switch between Verdana, Comic Sans, Arial, etc, and thus, still very useful.

That said, I only gave it 3 stars because it’s advertised as being able to add Google Fonts (& custom fonts) to your post editor … so I installed it. I didn’t check the instruction articles out … but they are behind a paywall. I don’t resent that, it just should be made clear that the plugin’s full functionality is locked behind a paywall.

EDIT: Either I missed the ‘premium’ or the description has been updated, as it is now very clear what is premium functionality. For this reason, the plugin does what it advertises very well, and I adjusted the review to full stars.

    Incorrect

Full functionality is free and automatic upon installation.

You only need to pay if you want the code to add Google or custom fonts which is an extension to the plugins default functionality.

I don’t provide free customization/modification of the plugins default functionality.

    Thanks for the clarification.

At the time I installed it, it wasn’t clear that the Google/custom fonts was considered a Premium upgrade. If I missed it, I apologize. If you have updated it, it is a very well-written description. Thank you.

The review was not meant to try to push you to ‘provide free customization/modification of the plugins default functionality.’ Clarification is always appreciated, but (while I understand the touchiness regarding ‘bully’ reviews) would be even more appreciated if it was worded to be a touch more friendly.

Regardless, I have updated the review to accurately reflect the current state of the plugin.
